Question 1

Is my job too small?

Accepted Answer

No. Flooring, painting, a strip-out or one wall of joinery all get the same care as a whole house.

Question 2

Which areas do you cover?

Accepted Answer

Leeds and the surrounding area. Send us your postcode and we will check whether we cover it.

Question 3

What happens after I get in touch?

Accepted Answer

We aim to reply the same working day. Where a visit is needed, we arrange a time to measure, listen and talk it through.

Question 4

Am I committed after the visit?

Accepted Answer

No. The visit, the design and the proposal are complimentary, and nothing starts until it’s agreed in writing.

Question 5

Can I see the design before I commit?

Accepted Answer

Yes. For room projects, we develop design ideas and visuals before you agree to the build.

Question 6

What’s in the proposal?

Accepted Answer

The work, the materials and finishes, and any assumptions or exclusions, set out clearly.

Question 7

Who will I deal with?

Accepted Answer

One of the three founders, from the first visit to handover. Any specialist the work needs is arranged and managed by us.

Question 8

How long will it take?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the job, the materials and any approvals. The dates are in your proposal and agreed before we start.

Question 9

Can I stay at home during the work?

Accepted Answer

It depends on the work. We agree access and any parts of the home that will be out of use before starting.

Question 10

How do you keep the dust down?

Accepted Answer

Floors and furniture are protected, the work area is closed off, and we clear up every day.

Question 11

Can I use my own materials or architect?

Accepted Answer

Tell us what you already have or who you are working with. We will confirm what can be included in the proposal.

Question 12

Do I need planning permission?

Accepted Answer

The approvals depend on the property and the work. Planning permission, listed building consent and Building Regulations approval are separate requirements. We check what applies before the relevant work starts.

Question 13

Are your trades qualified?

Accepted Answer

We arrange suitable specialists for work that needs them, including electrical and gas work. Required checks and certificates form part of the agreed scope.

Question 14

How does payment work?

Accepted Answer

A written contract and payment schedule are agreed before any work starts. How a job is staged depends on what it is.

Question 15

Is the work guaranteed?

Accepted Answer

Every project carries a workmanship guarantee: 12 months as standard, longer on bespoke work. The term for your project is set out in your proposal.

Question 16

Are you insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes, with public liability and professional indemnity insurance in place.
